As a result of the war in Ukraine, there are many children in need of psychological rehabilitation and physical recovery. For the first time since its independence, Ukraine has faced a large-scale threat to the lives and safety of its citizens, resulting in the most vulnerable, namely children, witnessing horrors and becoming victims of hostilities.
As a result of the war, bombing and shelling by the Russian aggressors, Ukrainian children are dying, suffering physical and mental injuries, becoming orphans, and thousands of them are subjected to mass deportations and abductions in the occupied territories.
The aim of this project is to provide these children with recreation in order to radically change their view of life and their vision of a possible future. According to official statistics, the number of internally displaced persons in Ukraine is several million. Many of them are families with underage children. Our primary goal is to provide the opportunity to participate in the program to children with Internally Displaced Person (IDP) status, as well as children of military personnel and families in difficult circumstances. Special attention is given to children who have lost a father or mother due to war.
Thanks to the implementation of the Children’s Camps project, tourism will be revived in the regions, and tourism institutions will be able to retain their staff and use their best professional qualities for the most valuable thing: restoring the physical and psychological health of Ukrainian children.
Summer vacations for children aged 7 to 16 are planned in small towns in western Ukraine, as this region is as safe as possible amid the ongoing hostilities.
The cost of a two-week (14-day) stay at the camp for one child is the equivalent of 333 EUR.
This price includes:
– living in relatively safe regions;
– four healthy meals a day, adapted to children’s needs;
– cultural, educational and active sports programs;
– outdoor recreation;
– creative activities (workshops and meetings with interesting people);
– psychological and rehabilitation component (group and individual work with psychologists);
– train tickets in both directions;
– transfers to and from the camp;
– health insurance.
The project involves tourist and recreational facilities with many years of experience working with children, located in picturesque nature in the safest possible places in Ivano-Frankivsk and Zakarpattia regions.
Just one visit to the camp is an opportunity for 27 to 50 children to return to a full and real childhood for at least 2 weeks.
Depending on the amount of funding, it is planned to improve the health of 3.5 to 35 thousand children. Become an angel of help for these children and help them rehabilitate and forget the horrors of war!
The project was initiated by the NGO Tourist Association of Ukraine, which brought together several hundred professionals from the country’s tourism and related industries to develop tourism in Ukraine.
